(db could stand for a lot of things, but in this case, it’s short for “Donna Beth.” Folks these days don’t usually do the double-name thing outside of the Deep South.)

What do I do?

OK.  Here’s the deal…

I wear a lot of hats, & usually more than one at a time.
Full time mom, part time EMT, chef (twice a day on good days), homeschooler, chore cop, hygiene dictator, photo documentarian of brother-messes & general maker-of-boys-into-men.

That takes us up til about 9pm when, on an average day, I punch out on the mom-time-clock…take off all the hats…inhale deeply…&…download.

It doesn’t sound very poetic, but really, it is.  It’s the quiet after the storm that clears the air & makes everything sparkle new.  So, in the hours sandwiched in between daylight, I download and process the photos of the messy & the mundane; a panoply of split-second-never-to-be-duplicated slivers of life so rich it might not be believed if it weren’t for the images on the screen before my bleary eyes.

And now one of these images (a sliver of a summer day titled “Andalusia, AL”) has been selected for inclusion in the 2015 Soho Photo Gallery National Competition and exhibition in New York City! http://www.sohophoto.com/exhibitions/upcoming/

What a thrill, and what a privilege!!  And yes, what an expense… that’s where this Go Fund Me campaign comes in.

What do I want?

I would love to be able to be present at the Gallery for the Opening Reception!  I’ve designed several levels of support.

What do you get?

For a $10.00 donation you will receive 2 archival pigment photo prints (approximately 3”X3”on 4”X6” Hahnemule Postcard stock) of my choice lovingly printed & packaged… and my eternal gratitude. *

For a $25.00 donation you will receive 1 archival pigment photo print (approximately 6”X6” on 8.5 X11 Hahnemule watercolor paper) of your choice lovingly printed & packaged… and my eternal gratitude. *

For a $50.00 donation you will receive 2 archival pigment photo prints (approximately 6”X6” on 8.5 X11 Hahnemule watercolor paper) of your choice AND a Post Card (see $10 donation above) all lovingly printed & packaged… and my eternal gratitude. *

For a $100.00 donation you will receive 5 archival pigment photo prints (approximately 6”X6” on 8.5 X11 Hahnemule watercolor paper) of your choice AND a Post Card (see $10 donation above) all lovingly printed & packaged… and my eternal gratitude. *

For a $500.00 donation I will arrange a 2-hour family portrait shoot at the location of your choice (within 2 hours of Pensacola, FL) for up to 12 people.  I will edit 30-40 full size images & burn them to disc for you to print as many photos as you’d like. (Photo release included.)  I’ll also burn thumbnail size images (suitable for email) of ALL the photos from our shoot to disc.  I will edit additional images, resize for printing, & burn to disc for $25.00 per image.  Also included in this package is my eternal gratitude. *

I have the most! amazing! friends! I'm almost there!
A huge, heart-felt thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Do y'all realize that you're all part of making a dream come true?
I was asked the question "What if you raise too much money?" Not to worry... if I exceed my goal, any extra funds will be applied towards my tired little camera. I shoot about 60,000-70,000 images per year & my camera is SEVERAL years old, & can only be repaired so many times.
And, btw, for those of you who received email replies from me saying that I will be "pregnant" next week... that was auto-correct turning "printing" into "pregnant." No, I will not be pregnant, but yes, I will be printing!
I'll also be updating my blog with more images to choose from so I'll keep you all posted on that as well.
Thank you again! I'm almost there!
